Building habits that actually stick
Consistency comes from making things easier, not from trying harder.
Big changes are exciting for a week or two, then everyday life returns. Small habits tend to last longer because they ask less of you on the difficult days.
Start with one change that feels almost too easy, such as adding a piece of fruit to breakfast or a ten minute walk after lunch. Link it to something you already do, so the existing routine becomes your reminder.
Plan for the days that do not go to plan. Decide in advance what your smallest version looks like: a shorter walk, a simpler meal. Doing a little keeps the habit alive.
Finally, notice progress kindly. Missing a day is part of the process, not proof that you have failed. The aim is a pattern over weeks, not a perfect streak.
